Corsair 800D Backplane replacement

Hi, Guys

So, I just put in an RMA ticket about my backplanes/hotswap bays being faulty. Can anyone tell me if I will have to send in my case just to get different backplanes?

The reason I believe they are faulty is because one of my HD's only work in 1-2 of them and not in any other, and another of my HD's (though and older HD) will not even be picked up.

However, connecting them straight to the motherboard, the HDD's work flawless. I've also taken the Backplanes off and hooked it up that way to make sure there was a solid connection to no avail.

They will also work off and on, I can restart my system and upon restart no HD's will be connected. Again, this issue does not happen when I have both HD's hooked directly to the mobo.

What's the deal?

how was the power cable? was it stiff and kind of out of line with the connectors?

there were a few incidences with an older design cable that the fix was to put "humps" in the cable so the power connectors had no stress on them.

Thanks for the reply.

The connectors all look pretty firm and sturdy. Also, I got this case this year around January or February and even though the new production cases have SATA 3, mine is still SATA 2.

If that helps with anything.
