christsi
We just got a HP Proliant ML110 G6 server and my co-worker bought xms3 6 GB DDR# memory modules. (TR3X6G1333C9) When I install them and turn the computer on it just beeps and I can't even get to the BIOS. Is this a compatibility issue? The package says recommended for Core I7 Processors. Our processor is I3. Sorry for my ignorance and thanks in advance for the help!
Wired
Not compatible for multiple reasons. 1. Triple channel memory shouldn't be put in a dual channel system. You could just use 2 sticks, but then you've got an extra with no purpose (backup I guess). 2. Not server grade memory. 3. http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/13477_na/13477_na.pdf Requires ECC memory.
christsi
Thanks for your help! Two did not work at all. Hopefully I can get a refund or exchange. I'm having trouble finding the right memory through the corsair site. Do you have any recommendations?
Wired
Might want to contact them directly. Not sure if they make server memory anymore.
