H70 heating issues

Hello all. Well I recently just finished doing a new build and got everything all set up and ready to do and it seems to be that the H70 either isn't working or it's doing minimal cooling. My system seems to idle at maybe 69 and jumps to 75-78 while I'm surfing sites or playing 1 game. I'm wondering if it's the cooler or maybe something else. I doubt it though as if it was cooling properly it would be way lower. I took it out of the box with the preapplied paste and put it on. Any info on what anyone else thinks about this? Running a Phenom 2 X6 1075T at stock since I'm scared of overheating.

Yeah, you should be idling in the 30's. And I believed the phenoms are only rated at like 63? or 65? degrees. My recommendation would be to reseat the heatsink, make sure everything is really tight and it's got a firm connection. Also check to see if you can see the thermal paste leaking onto the socket. There might have been too much pre-applied paste. Also check to see if the fans are running...

My 1055 idles at 18c-21c and never goes above 34c-EVER. Mounted in the front drivebay (see "show off your h70 rig" post). Are you sucking in air or discharging from the case (should be the first one), what case and how many fans you got? Mines oc-ed to 3.3

Sorry checked your specs, Midsize case lol, still should never be that hot, i once put on the v8 cooler but forgot to remove the film on the heat plate-got temps in the 70c or higher.

Too much paste applyed with have neg efffects
