James IL
I have upgraded my motherboard from a DX58SO to a DX58SO2. Since this board has 6 dimm slots I was able to find an additional 6 gigs of memory(total of 12 gig) same version and all. When I let my system sit overnight and turn it on I get the 3 beeps and since my board has a port 80h display it tells me it stopped at 1C. When I looked in the docs for my motherboard that 1C means "Entry/Exit to PEI overclock programming" If I unplug my power supply for a second or two and plug it back in it boots right up. It only does this when it sits for more that 30 minutes. I have not came up much with googling this and want to know if this is my memory or maybe a bios issue. I wanted to run it at 7 8 7 20 1333 like it is rated but can only run without crash at 9 9 9 24 1333.
Wired
Try one kit at a time. No guarantees when mixing separate kits together as they haven't been tested together and could be using different components.
James IL
lol. ? I was more worried if "Entry/Exit to PEI overclock programming" had anything to do with my memory. I did each kit seperatly and still had the exact same problem, so I took the newer one back and just put my older memory back in (which has tighter timings and can run stable OC at 7 7 7 20 1333 via xmp profile ) and no more problems. Thanks for trying to help anyway.
