Discontinued product? (CMP6GX3M3A1600C7)

I have chosen my memory...but it is not looking good at the moment.

NewEgg has shown out of stock on CMP6GX3M3A1600C7 but the "ETA" they're posting has come and passed...and still nothing.

CORSAIR... Has your company discontinued CMP6GX3M3A1600C7? It's even difficult to find this item online period. (Although I've seen a few listings at ridiculous prices...)

Starting to wonder what the deal is... So rather than just waiting to find out, I wanted to get a jump on this and ask NOW.

This brings another question... If I were to buy this RAM from someone on eBay... Would this prevent me from doing an RMA if there were to be something wrong with it by some chance?

Please give me all of the relevant details so that I can prepare a contingency plan? (It was HARD ENOUGH finally deciding on which RAM to get in the first place!)

BE DETAILED.

I am sorry but that part is not longer available, the IC we used to make that part is no longer being made thus we can no longer make the part. And Wired is correct when you purchase a product from another user like from ebay the warranty is no longer valid.

Weird, newegg has stock of this model again =S. I'm having a really difficult time chosing between the C7 and C8 models. I mean, if the C7 model is no longer being produced there must be a good reason.

Is this the only discontinued model? Or are you upgrading your models again like you did with the "TR..." models (TR3X6G1600C8D for example) ? Would it be wise to "risk" buying a discontinued model just for a little lower latency?

Thank you ;) , and sorry for the amount of questions.

Reason already stated.

The part numbers are not changing. What risk? It's not going to blow up or anything :) Lifetime warranty.

Yeah... I guess I'm being a little paranoid over here =P, is just that I'm asking a friend to buy it on the USA, and if something goes wrong it would take a long time to change the kit.

And by "risk" I meant no more replacements for the discontinued part or something like that, but since you cleared that with the "Lifetime Warranty" part, I think I can finally buy my CMP6GX3M3A1600C7 kit in peace ^^.

Once again, thank you very much for taking the time to answer my questions (even on a Sunday after New Year!!). This is the kind of support that makes me feel proud of buying Corsair products. You guys should give Wired a prize for all the help he provides on these forums ;) .

Obsolete or Discontinued Products

Whenever possible, an obsolete or discontinued product will be replaced with the same product. If Corsair is unable to replace your obsolete or discontinued product with the same product, Corsair will replace that product with a new product of similar function and equal or greater value.
