SysX
We installed a F120G2 firmware 1.1 in a HP4520s Energy Star, W7PRO64 (all HP updates installed). This has resulted in a battery life of about 2 hrs (should be ca 4-5) and a constantly running fan (ca middle speed on idle). Nothing special running on the laptop. Same problem on W7PRO32. HP is not helpful in finding a solution. Any ideas?
Synbios
I would chec the power profile settings. The battery life should improve with the SSD.
SysX
But alas does not. Even with the most conservative of power plans it does not stay on for more than 2 hrs and that is with wifi off. Is it so that if the BIOS is not designed for using an SSD the power management of the disk fails (if is there such a thing as power management for SSD's?)? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 4, 2011 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 4, 2011 I would suggest testing the SSD in another system and if that system does not offer a SSD option then for sure it is not optimized for SSD's

We have two identical laptops (W7PRO64 and W7PRO32) that behaves in the same way.
