robbles
Running bootcamp (windows 7 64x) I have no issues with the headset after driver installation. Will these not work at all on my OSX side?
Wired
Looks like the website only shows windows compatibility.
robbles
Ah, I seemed to have figured it out, the drivers are windows only (exe files) plugging in the headset isn't enough, going into system preferences --> sound --> output tab --> HS-1 I assume the save works for adjusting the source of the mic too, to utilize the mic on the HS-1 in comparison to the built in. This isnt anywhere online, hey Corsair, keep this nugget of knowledge. edit: My question then becomes if I adjust the sound of the headset on my windows side and RESTART (not turn off and on) would the settings carry over onto my mac? (Im using smcFanControl as reference to applications allowing this)
alphasig298
No your settings aren't going to carry over from one OS to another. I'm running Windows 7 64-bit along with OSX 10.6.6 and my HS1 works fine with both operating systems. You won't get the 7.1 surround sound in OSX but as far as a stereo headset is concerned it'll work just fine.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 22, 2011 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 22, 2011 I am sorry but at this time we only have support for Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7. I think as alphasig298 mentioned the default USB Audio driver still may load in OSX and they may function but not at their full potential.

Any idea if the Corsair drivers will work if I run Windows in a Virtual-box/Parallels/VMware environment on OSX, and install it in windows? I'm asking because I rarely bother bootcamping into windows. This is because I want to be able to play a game, but still have all my other stuff open for homework, so I can work on it in between game matches. I don't want just the default OSX drivers, I'd like the surround too.

USB wont recognize them… And no, they dont work with Parallels or Virtual Box. No chance. And this is a shame!!
TitiMoby
Sorry to bring back such an old thread. I bought the HS1 for my Mac, knowing I won't get the 7.1 stuff. The problem is that even at minimum volume, the sounds is wayyyy to heavy. The only solution I found is to set it to 1 on 100 using an apple script and then lower volume in each games. This is not the first USB audio dongle or headset I use, but this is the first time I have this issue. Is it only on my model ?

Any possibility of OSX drivers, or is there some other workaround?
robchis
For OSX/Mac people who are having trouble controlling the volume level of the HS1: The best solution I found and has been working fantastically for me for the past year is Hear by Joesoft. This app will solve all your volume problems with your HS1 headset and also does a lot of other amazing and useful stuff (such as greatly improving/enhancing your audio - if you want). I totally recommend it.
