Gables
Hi everyone, my requirements are quite simple, I am primarily interested in ways of reducing background noise. The noisiest component of my PC seems to be the processor fan, I have heard that if I replace my Phenom II X6 1055T fan assembly with a Corsair Hydro H50 or H70 Cooler, this will significantly reduce system noise. I do not have any heat problems at the moment, typically the processor runs at sub 50 degrees. It is not a gaming machine, I only use simple office applications, but prefer a quiet background when I am working. Does anyone know if this product is suitable for reducing background noise? Would there be any benefit in me using the more expensive H70 model, or would I simply be wasting my time and money on either of the products? fanqi1234
How many case fans do you have? Using H50 means you can eliminate 1 fan from the computer - it takes place of one case fan, and there will be no fan directly on the processor. Gables
Thanx very much, think I will give it a miss. To replace a slightly noisy fan mounted over the CPU with a Corsair fan on the back of the case that sounds as if it could be just as noisy doesn't sound like a good idea to me...
