Silvio
Merry Holidays!!! This time Santa was 'depressed' and went shopping. :D: I appreciated!.....my son too!! lol I was not able to find an answer using memory configurator Guys, pls, is anyone aware if CMSO4GX3M1A1333 is compatible with i3 3,2 iMac? Pls Ram Guy/Yellobeard what do you suggest for a 16GB configuration on my new iMac?, is 4 x CMSO4GX3M1A1333 the best choice? Do you think I can mix 2 x CMSO4GX3M1A1333 with the 2x2 that were on the box? (reaching 12GB) Apple store (dealer) told me that 4 slots are inside iMac, half populated with 2x2 SO-DIM banks. is that correct? Apple specs report : max 16 GB - SO-DIMM 1333 MHZ, PC3-10600 DDR 3 (DDR3 1333) unregistered and unbuffered.
DeepPurple23
I don't know the answer exactly, not having been inside the new iMacs. However, I have done several memory 'upgrades' to various Apple laptops. The way the apples work with RAM is really tricking. Even if it matches spec it might not function properly. I've had the lappy and Apple tell me the memory is bad, only to place it into a different machine without issue. You should really be looking for memory that states "approved for Mac". Of course, that usually sends the price north. Sorry I couldn't be more specific. Good Luck.
Silvio
ty really much for kind help. Actually I managed it and can be of use for other users. I bought 2 x CMSO4GX3M1A1333 (the last 2 on the shop!!!) thinking "at least 8"! (I hope) I pushed the 2 new rams onto their slots and.... with good surprise they are all working (12 GB) So if you use imac (i3 - late 2010 version) CMSO4GX3M1A1333 are the right ram! excuse my bad english Happy New Year ciao
