thehawk
Good morning. I have a PC with 2GB of RAM which are the following: TWIN2X2048-6400C4DHX Corsair TwinX XMS2, DDR2 PC2-6400 (800), 240 Pins, Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 4-4-4-12, DHX I would like to add 2GB more but it seems the sticks I have are no longer available but the TWIN2X2048-6400C5DHX are, same memory but with different latency. Can I go ahead and purchase them, hence combining same RAM but with different latency? Thank you.
Wired
It's never recommended to mix kits, even if they're identical, as there's no way to guarantee compatibility without testing.
thehawk
I see. Can anyone please confirm the TWIN2X4096-6400C5C will work with my ASUS P5K-E/WIFI-AP motherboard? It seems the mobo is no longer in the list on the Memory Configurator page. Thank you.
Wired
TWIN2X4906-6400C5DHX is listed, so TWIN2X4096-6400C5C is compatible. The differences between the two are the heat spreader.
