stefansg
Hello! can a Corsair AX1200 PSU handle a OCed system and 2 5970 cards?, my current PSU is a Sapphire 1250W and there is a problem with it and i need to RMA the sucker so i need another PSU in the meanwhile. RhysN
I'm fairly certain that it can. I'm no PSU pro, but my HX620 could easily handle a heavily OCed i7 system which had one 5970 when it was working. Maximum power draw on a 5970 is around 300 watts, so you should be fine with lots of head room. I'd even go as far as saying you could overvolt both 5970s with this PSU, pushing them a bit over 300 watts each, though there's still cooling to worry about. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 27, 2010 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 27, 2010 The AX1200 would power just about any system that you could put together. You can use our PSU Finder for specific recommendations for your particular system configuration.
stefansg
Hey Ram Guy :) Yeah i used the PSU Finder but it suggested HX1000w and i have one laying around but according to this forum, it would wear it out faster than normal so wanted to get a single rail version. Corsairs PSU's is really top notch :)
