Yellowbeard
The case pictured here has a modded side panel with a new fan added. There's also an extra 120mm fan in the middle at the middle drive bay position. http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showpost.php?p=478924&postcount=19 http://img576.imageshack.us/img576/4453/dscn06920.jpg
denydog
The included picture was taken in normal room lighting. You can see the lighted fan through the grill. There is a similar lighted fan and grill on top, plus the white power on LED, which both reflect off the cabinet just above the PC. I haven't used it in the dark yet, but I'm sure there would be some glow depending on how dark the room is. My system stays about as cool as I could imagine it ever getting under normal loads. Running Prime95, the CPU is low to mid 60's. You can see my system specs in the link, which are similar to yours. I do have an upgraded CPU cooler with a single fan on it, for potential future needs. The CPU, memory, and graphic card fans all run at minimal speeds under intelligent fan speed control, with average loads. I think about adding additional fans, but they are definitely not needed as yet. I don't play games that much right now, though I am trying to learn Crysis. http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u179/denydog/IMG_Computer_Cabinet.jpg edit: You can always disable the LED's on the fans. I've seen cases that have had it done.

denydog
...did your install the other cpu cooler right away or did u try it with the stock cooler first and that wasnt good Didn't try it stock because from what I'd read, an after market cooler would give some improved lower temps at anything other than CPU idle. Yellowbeard, great build thread!
John Peterson
edit: You can always disable the LED's on the fans. I've seen cases that have had it done. May I ask how that is done?
denydog
I don't know for sure, because I haven't done it on mine. But I got the impression that a power lead to the LEDs was cut.
John Peterson
But I got the impression that a power lead to the LEDs was cut. The question is which one. From this video at 6:29 the fan has three black cords.
denydog
EDIT- Well I guess I'll start cutting my wires and let you know. haha Seriously, I just took a look at my fan out of curiosity, and there is a pair of wires (one silver, one copper) that travel from the hub in the center, along an arm of the fan, to the outside frame. At basically the same point, 6:32 in the video, I can just make out these wires running over the tip of his right hand ring finger. These obviously connect to the LED's on the outside of the fan. Disconnect or snip at least one.
John Peterson
Thanks for the suggestions. by removing the the Corsair label on the fan That seems like a nice chance, I'll try that the next weekend when I have the case.
Wired
Pretty sure dismantling the fan voids the fan's warranty FYI.
