videoDave
I Have the Ax850 and Asus motherboard Question the power cable for the MOBO has the 24 pin connector on one end and has two connectors on the other end labled 750ax/850ax only to go into the power supply (one of the two with 18 and one with 10) do I plug only the 18 connector or both the 18 and 10pin connectors into the power supply? Wired
Both the 18 and 10 pin connections are needed, otherwise 6 pins won't get power :)
videoDave
thank you, That may be why nothing happens when I had tried to turn on my new computer build. I thought P.S. was bad because the fan does not even spin once. I will try tonight.

Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted December 21, 2010 Corsair Employee Share Posted December 21, 2010 Check to make sure that you have the following cables plugged in: 24-pin ATX plugged into motherboard 4/8pin EPS 12v plugged into motherboard PCIE connectors plugged into graphics card if your card requires it If those are plugged in already, I would disconnect everything else, USB devices, HDDs, optical drives, leave a single stick of memory installed, and see if you are able to get anything to come up with a bare bones configuration. videoDave
I so wish I saw your post this morning. I took everything apart thinking it was a defective motherboard. Then I realized that I forgot the 8 pin eatx12 cable. It looks like I would have to use the two 4 connectors, but I am not sure they will match. the book diagram of the connectors for my my asus P6X58D-E board looks different than the corsair cables available. videoDave
i just glanced at the board and noticed a cover over 4 of the 8 pins. Not sure why. The book mentions not to forget the 8 pin connector or system wilol not boot. the 4 that are exposed look like they will match the first cable connector with 2 square and 2 partial round, but the 4 covered on board are also 2 square and 2 patial round , but the other part of the corsair cable is all partial round. Not sure if that will fit or if I am suppose to take off the cover and even use all 8 pins???
Yellowbeard
Yes, remove the cover and use the entire 4+4 pin connector. The cover is there to allow users to use older 4 pin PSUs.

Timstone
I bumped into the same problem. I'm glad I searched for the sollution first. Thanks a bunch! But it got me wondering, why are the Corsair cables shaped like that (the second connector all with chamfered connectors)?
