howardpm
I have a 600t with a Asus Sabertooth X58 Mb, and when I plug in my WD Passport to the first USB ports it doesn't work (it lights up doesn't let me access the drive) If I use the rear ports it works fine. Is this a Case issue, MB issue or a Combo?
Synthohol
i would check the device manager to see what mA those front ports are being supplied from the MB if less than 500mA that may be the issue.
howardpm
It says 500mA per port for all 8 USB Root Hubs
Synthohol
is there another port on the board to plug the front cable in to see if its a MB port issue? or maybe even just a bad port wire. i dont know if you have another to test out of the case? howardpm
Well the case has 2 USB cables, and the MB has 3 slots to plug in additional USB cables. I'm using 2 of them for the front 4 Case USB ports. I could try the 3rd, but I don't seem to have any issues charging my Ipod or my logitech harmony or anything else with the front ports. Synthohol
are all your proper chipset drivers installed? i think you need this driver installed so that an external drive can be used. i could be wrong?
