I have a Laptop Series NJ61, I installed windows 7 64 bit edition on the SSD 90 GB Corsair. The installation went smoothly and I installed the drivers without any problem. Then I did a normal reboot and then install the patches via the internet on windows update. Then I started having problems every time you start the computer at boot. I have this message.

>>> Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key

I have to restart the computer and everything is in order to access windows 7. But at every stop I have to redo the same operation.

The firmware is updated on the DSS, the bios is updated also for my laptop ASUS, AHCI mode is enabled in the bios.

Could you tell me how to solve the problem if you met him?

You could try disabling any option for boot devices other than the SSD in your BIOS options. Then you'll just have to do it when you need to boot from other device(which probably won't be that often) instead of every time your PC needs to reboot(quite often I'm sure). Furthermore, there are some options you can write to the windows7 boot file but I wouldn't mess with that unless you know what you're doing.

EDIT **** Might want to try and test whether it is your C-Mos somehow being cleared or if it is the SSD not being recognized at boot that is causing the problem as well. You can kind of test this by rebooting the pc and not changing anything in BIOS. If you do say...10 reboots over a 5 min period and your PC still does not boot to the SSD after having made sure it was set to in BIOS before the first reboot, then it is probably your C-MOS somehow clearing and a motherboard issue not the SSD.

When I replace the 90 GB SSD corsair of a Maxtor hard drive serial ata 2 in 7200 rpm I do encounter any problems. At the start of my laptop ASUS Windows 7 launches perfectly and I have no error message and even after several starts. Once when I commit my SSD, the drive is recognized at 100% and AHCI mode IS enabled and then I still get this error every time I start Windows 7. I do not understand ........................ I am obliged to do a reboot to restart Windows 7 it will work properly. The message here is:

>>> Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key

This happened to me also. I think the cause is the same. For some reason the SSD doesn't respond fast enough or at all. My laptop goes through the boot sequence and finally stops waiting for a network PXE boot.

I upgraded the firmware on the SSD (Force series 1.1) to version 2.0. I also got a BIOS upgrade for my laptop must a couple of days ago. Hopefully, all together they will have addressed the problem.

No operating system drivers will help, I think the problem is much lower in the stack than that.

P.S. The "no cable PXE boot" error message happened to me today after a restart. A power-off and reboot worked. This is an improvement. I think there is still a problem with the drive not responding correctly (or fast enough). The BIOS just doesn't see it and falls though all the boot options until it gets to the PXE boot (network).

:bigeyes:I looked on http://www.google.com and many people also have this problem. I just installed a trial version of another Windows 7 professional and I just saw that the problem is still present. I have to do a reboot every time my laptop Asus and nine to answer you the battery is new! . I have the support tel Asus as it is under warranty and you can not answer as I installed a DSS that is not included in my application. It tells me to turn towards the support of Corsair to bring a solution. When I put my original hard disk in Windows 7 I have no problem running. Too curious!
