wowdoggy954
I am running my AMD 965 at stock settings. I have reseated my H50 with Arctic Silver 5 paste. SpeedFan is indicating a Core temp of about 38c idle. When I run the Prime95 Torture Test (large) the Core temp jumped to 57c. I have the H50 set up correctly (pulling air from outside the case and blowing it across the rad into the case). I have upgraded the fan to a 2000 rpm (which it basically runs at) and the pump is running at around 1400 rpm. Sure the thing is silent, but it sure is doing a poor job of cooling my cpu. The manual says to run Prime95 for at least 30 minutes. I can`t run it for even 5 before it shows all the temps on fire. In fact, I`ve probably ruined my cpu now. djmorgan
I don't know diddly about AMD processors but if it can't take 57c I'd suggest you switch to Intel! Search the forums here I'm sure you will see with Intel processor those temps are very good, you need to consider mentioning your ambient temp for better feed back, but still if that was an Intel i7 it would be very good temps. Most modern CPUs' will run at a 100+ but ideally under 85c will cause no damage at all. What do AMD rate their CPU as operating thermal range? or don't you know!
