Gaboo
Hi All, I just finished my system build a few days ago and noticed some unusual sounds coming from the H70 cold plate/pump. The H70 is push/pull with the fan resistor installed, the fan noise is fine. The CPU is an i7 950 at stock 133.5 x 12, 3.07 Ghz, the IDLE temperatures according to Real Temp 3.60 cores at 40, 36, 39, 36 C, this seems reasonable? The pump makes a repetitive dull tapping/clicking-like sound at about 10 Hz. Initially, this was fluctuating on and off over the first couple of days, but now the noise is constant and very annoying. The pump sound is louder than all of the fans in my system combined. To me, this just does not seem right? Also, when the system starts in the morning, I can hear fluid sounds from the pump that last for a minute or two before settling down. It sounds a little bit like gurgling, maybe the fluid is expanding as the system starts and warms up, not sure if this is normal? I think the H70 should probably be replaced under RMA. Greatly appreciate any comments on this? Gaboo
