grub
Hi, I have read YellowBeards sticky on this problem where incorrect detection by Windows7 64-bit when bios and CPU-z detect correct amounts of RAM. I have applied the suggestions to limited success. I've reseat CPU and inspected multiple times, as well as RAM, both look aok. Moved RAM to different A1, B1, C1 slots. Tested with MemTest86+ as 3 sticks and singles with no errors. All above has been done at default mainboard settings. I've tried XMPs profile, and manually settings 7-8-7-20 2n 1.5, 1.55, 1.6, 1.62 and 1.65Vs VDIMM. With QPI/DRAM at 1.2 to 1.4. Nothing I do gives consistent results on Windows RAM detection. I have 4GB then next time I reboot it is suddenly 6GB and vice versa. Default bios settings it will be 6GB after 5 reboots then suddenly 4GB with no changes. I'm pulling my hair out. Any suggestions or should I be RA'ing RAM or Mainboard?
Wired
Test in a different system. Personally I'd lean towards your CPU having the issue, although the memory would be easier to RMA.
grub
arg. looks like there must be a problem with a stick. experiencing the same problem in a friends UD7 with or without tweaks. how do i prove this problem to my supplier? or should i RA directly with Corsair Australia? RAM is only 10 days old. btw, another brand triple channel kit works no problem in my RIIIE. thanks
