xNuzzo
Hello, I just had a question about the 600T and a Corsair PSU, the 750HX. I plan on building this computer on Thursday, and I'm not sure if the 8pin power cable on the 750HX is long enough to reach my mobo, the ASUS Rampage III Formula. I've read some reviews about people needing an 8pin power extension cable because the 600T is spacious. Basically, I'm wondering if the 8pin power cable on the 750HX long enough to connect to my mobo in the 600T. If anyone knows, please let me know asap. denydog
Lots of people out here. How many have an Asus Rampage Formula III, and a 600T, and an HX750? I have an HX850 that has the same length cable as HX750, and it's connected to an Asus P6X58D, with a little bit of extra length. It looks like it's a couple more inches to reach the 8-pin power connector on the Rampage. I think the HX750's 24 inch cable will reach, but without a Rampage in front of me, I can not say with 100% certainty. Maybe a Rampage III-600T-HX750 owner will be along soon. xNuzzo
Alright, thanks for the response. About how much extra length would you say? Based off these two pictures, one of your mobo (http://www.techpowerup.com/img/09-10-26/84a.jpg) and one of the Rampage III Formula (http://www.semiaccurate.com/static/uploads/2010/08_august/R3F.jpg), it looks like the 8pin is just about an inch or so farther down. Sorry!! Making my computer tomorrow and wanted to make sure I didn't need to stop off at Fry's to get an 8pin power extension beforehand. denydog
... About how much extra length would you say? ...it looks like the 8pin is just about an inch or so farther down. Not a lot of slack, but it still might make it. I have my cable taking pretty much the most direct route possible. From the power supply, through the grommeted oval hole immediately next to the PS. Then diagonally to the small ungrommet hole at the upper rear corner of the back plane. Then an inch or so forward/down to the 8-pin MB connector. On the Rampage, it's more a difference of direction on that last inch or so, with maybe just an additional inch in distance. I really think that with all the slack in the cable removed, it will reach the Rampage connector. Please let me know if I am wrong.
xNuzzo
is your PSU mounted with the fan down or up? With the fan up, there's no way it's going to reach, just gonna have to man up and get an extension ='(

I'd hate to waste the 600T's bottom intake filter.

Wired
If there's no air gap? Yes, it'll be bad.
denydog
I was about to say that it would depend on the carpet thickness, but I measured the gap from the air intake to a hard surface, and it's only about 8mm, or 5/16th inch, so I don't think I'd try it with any type of carpet. If I were in such a situation, I think I'd cut a piece of wood or other rigid material to the same size as the case bottom, and place it on the carpet with the case on top.
