ChaobSiroc
I have 6GB of TR3X6G1600C8D on my EVGA classified motherboard. Today Newegg has a big sale on the CMP6GX3M3A1600C8 RAM. The specs seem identical only difference being the newer model supports DHX Pro. I'm only buying another kit of RAM for this system if I can mix the two seemingly identical RAM as the old kit costs $40 than this new kit that is on sale today. THIS QUESTION IS FOR THE RAM GUY ONLY!!! (or someone who has actually tried the two together) I have searched the forums here and seen "Wired's" replies. He simply doesn't know the answer. Once again I am only buying this second kit if it can be mixed due to the great sale on it today. Thank you
Wired
Answer's the same regardless of who you ask. They simply cannot guarantee that 2 kits will work together as they have not tested them together. Add to that the fact that there's 9 different versions of each kit (version number = IC manufacturer), and even ICs from the same batch aren't always compatible with each other, and you've got a whole slew of variables when looking at compatibility. An actual employee who has access to the product could certainly answer this. I don't care if there is a guarantee of them working together. If they are identical (which they seem to be other than the irrelevant DHX Pro support) then they should work. I'll wait for RAM Guy to shed some light on this. Yellowbeard
OFFICIAL CORSAIR RESPONSE: We cannot guarantee that the 2 kits will work together and it is not a recommended configuration. It may work, it may not. The ONLY way to know is for you to install them together and test them together.

Yellowbeard
One of our 12GB kits is your best option with respect to compatibility. FYI, Wired is the administrator of this site and has been involved with this site longer than I have. He probably knows the product line and tech support jargon as well, if not better than any non-Corsair employee you'll run across. If he doesn't know the answer, he'll be the first to tell then he'll go find the right answer. Good luck with your memory upgrade. ::pirate::
