ProRules
Hey guys! I have the Corsair VX550W and i want to know if it have a lightning defence or something. Cuz there are some T-storms here. Also when i go to sleep i use to take the cable out of the psu so no worries but is that enough to just use the botton at the back of the case (on the psu there is a botton i guss on/off botton)? Thanks!
Wired
Lighting will nuke ANYTHING. Now if you're just talking about power fluctuations, there's some info on the product page: http://www.corsair.com/products/vx/default.aspx Turning the power switch off doesn't protect against real surges, as if they're powerful enough they'll just arc over. Look into power supression / battery backups.

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 14, 2010 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 14, 2010 Best to have a good surge protector, or battery backup if you live in an area that is prone to lightning storms.
