philippe75
Hello Corsair Forum, I just bought to upgrade my system : - MB ASUS P7P55D-E - Proc Intel I7 870 - RAM Corsair CMX8GX3M4B1333C9 I received boxes, on the Corsair one it's written "AMD Phenom II" ????? I bought that on this Web site : http://www.rueducommerce.fr/Composants/Barrettes-Memoires/Memoires-DDR3/CORSAIR/3001988-Memoire-kit-de-4-barettes-corsair-ddr3-4-x-2go-8-go-1333-Mhz-cas-9.htm It's French but you can understand that they noticed the compatibility with Intel I7? Are they wrong ?? On the Corsair Site this memory looks to be compatible with P7P55D-E, do you think that there is no problem to associate Intel I7 with Corsair CMX8GX3M4B1333C9 ? Thank you for your response and excuse me for this "Froggy" english.... Philippe.
trackrat
I guess Ram Guy will need to advise as the information is conflicting with the Corsair website saying this is tested compatible RAM for the AMD Phenom II and the P7P55D-E but it is not listed as compatible in the Intel i7 section? Perhaps the RAM was originally approved for the Phenom II and now also confirmed to work with the Intel i7 or specifically the P7P55D-E mobo ????? Corsair's website is not always up to date. Wired
It's up to date in terms of part numbers in the right areas, but not all part numbers are listed on the website. That's definitely an AMD part only.
philippe75
Thank you for responses. I decide to return this RAM and order the CMP8GX3M4A1600C8 kit (Dominator DDR3-1600).
