glenn37216
Rma replacement set of ram died after just 5 months. A few short months ago I replaced 2 sets of tr3x3g1600c8d for my rampage 2 extreme. I've never overvolted these repacement sticks of ram and always kept them at the rated 1.65v . Recently , I booted my pc and was doing routine checks on my hardware and noticed 2 sticks of my 6gb memory not showing up in the bios. I made sure all ram slots on the rampage 2 extreme was working with a spare set of ram I had. The ram slots all checked out ok. But however , after checking the Corsair ram in pairs , I found 2 sticks were dead. I put in for a request for an rma before I posted here. Sorry for that. Is it safe to say my rma replacement request will be accepted?>

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 13, 2010 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 13, 2010 That may suggest some other problem but I would test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org to be sure and we will be happy to replace them. In addition, you made reference to TWO sets, that is officially not supported but if you do mix two sets it would be suggested to set them to the next lower speed grade with XMP enabled. glenn37216
Two sets of 3x1gb kits ARE OF THE SAME SPEED AND MODEL RAM that were originally replaced my Corsair 5 MONTHS AGO. Can't even boot with the two faulty sticks to test them . They lock my pc at "MemoryCheck" during post. I can't tell which of the faulty ram sticks came from what 3gb kit so I will be sending both 3gb kits back again. My system is 1000% stable on a simple overclock. It's no fault of my bios settings or the overclock that this ram failed.
Synthohol
regardless if they ever worked before, 2 sets are not supported. (at listed speed if at all.) try what ramguy suggested and test each stick 1 at a time to see if in fact one or more has failed.

You can't test "1" stick at a time. "Due to cpu spec definition , the system will not boot if only one DIMM is installed. 2 sticks can only be tested at a time." pg. 2-15 Rampage 2 extreme user guide. While I was waiting on my rma , I bought some Viper 2 series memory that clocks higher, performs better and costs less than the Dominators . Go figure.
Wired
You can definitely test one stick at a time. The manual's wrong. Go ahead, try it :)
