My solution of coil whine (with Corsair VX550)

As I wrote in my previous thread http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=90273 (which was closed so this was why I was starting a new thread), I got a Corsair VX550 power supply, and I got a coil whine from my ATI HD 5770 card. I used to have a cheap power supplyand my PC did not have a coil whine with it.

So, recently I installed a cheap power supply which costed me 40% of the price of the Corsair. The coil whine from HD 5770 disappeared. The power supply is quiet, but it heats up more than the Corsair did. It is understandable, because the efficiency is 70%. Otherwise, it is the latest design of that company. Everything is OK now.

That's what I thought, too. However, I did a search on the Internet, and found a cheap PSU which had all the safety features which the more expensive power supplies had. Only it had an efficiency of 70-75%, and it was made with the less durable capacitors. (Actually, the latter was of a concern to me.)

I gave a link to this power supply, because there were two different models known under the same name. The one I got was a sub-par one, was an OE, and was sold in Australia/NZ only. However, the moderators edited the link out.

I got this OEM unit specifically because it was using an 80 mm rear fan. This is what my PC case required. All of the PSUs made by Corsair use an 120 mm fan mounted on a side, and are not quite suitable for my purpose.
