lucyinthesky
I have a Gigabyte GA-X5A-UD3R motherboard and the cpu power supply is a 8 slot receptacle and I have the Corsair TX750 power supply. The plug on the 750 is different from the receptacle. The receptacle is Rd Sq Sq Rd Rd=rounded Sq=square Sq Rd Rd Sq The plug is Rd Sq Rd Rd Sq Rd Rd Rd I was able to get the plug in the receptacle but the power goes on and off, I quickly unplugged it before I caused any damage. Am I missing something? Thanks for any help
Yellowbeard
Please do not double post, your other thread has been removed. This PSU is compatible with that board. The shape of each pin hole is not relevent.
lucyinthesky
Sorry about the double post, I'm learning. Then what about the issue of the power going on and off? When I removed the plug from the cpu unit there was no fluctuation
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 10, 2010 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 10, 2010 The round and square pins are not going to cause any problems. If the PSU is causing these problems, then its unrelated to the shape of the pins on the EPS 12v connector. When you power on the system do you get anything on the screen at all? Are you able to get into Windows under any circumstances? Does the system shut itself off, or does it stay running without anything on the screen? lucyinthesky
This is a new build I have not made it as far as loading windows. The only reason I even questioned the shape of the pins was because when I plug in the power for the cpu unit the power goes on and off on and off, if I unplug the cpu power the power stays constant. I understand the shape of the pins are not the issue. I am new to this. Thank you for your help.
lucyinthesky
What do I do about the power going on and off?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 14, 2010 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 14, 2010 What do I do about the power going on and off? A faulty PSU could possibly cause this, but there are other possibilities as well. The only real way to know for sure if its the PSU would be to test it in a different system and see if you get the same results. If you are unable to test in a different system, or if you do test it and you get the same results in a different system then lets try getting it replaced!
