rosebud111
I would suggest you un-install the update and wait for the final release. I have installed Service Pack for Microsoft Windows KB976932 (SP1) and KB2488113 after check for updates. I believe these to be the final release of SP1? Am I wrong? I will gladly remove what is needed ... anything to solve this problem. On a MS forum a person reported solving this sleep issue by removing his 4 2TB HDDs. Wired
There's a lot of 2 TB drives that have issues period. Did a bunch of research before I bought my NAS. Also, KB976932 isn't SP1, just a KB talking about SP1, but it does contain the correct links for it.
rosebud111
After installing SP1 and updating the video card driver I have the same BSOD scenarios awakening from sleep mode as before SP1. MS is looking into it and now going to 3rd level support, was told that they have a lot of issues like this with SSD drives. The system has stopped generating mindumps which they are aware of and do believe that likely they will be needed ... also MS sent me the TB hotfix I already tried and is presently installed. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 3, 2011 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 3, 2011 Please keep us informed if you have any updates from them (Microsoft) that is.
rosebud111
Sure will. So far I have found the India-based MS support so pathetic that they can lead a person to crying or going mad. They have now had access to my system a number of times ... The minidumps are not being generated now for some reason and I repeat that this needs to be addressed since they canl be very useful. As it stands, they recognize this to be an issue and admit knowing about SSD-type problems and are about to decide whether third-level support will take this problem on. The person I deal with claiming to be level 2 and who interfaces with the upper support echelons is to put it nicely "incompetent".
rosebud111
Is it possible to change from Marvell controller Raid 0 to Intel Raid and restore the data (OS drive)? Or do I have to reinstall Win 7? Would very much like to keep the installation so if anyone can provide advice or has done it please let me know. rosebud111
It is possible to restore the RAID 0 OS data using windows backup for heaven's sake unbelievable. Acronis with the Plus Pack claims to work but is a total dud and development stopped in 2009 though they market 2011 versions ... The SSDs in RAID 0 were moved from the Marvell controller to the Intel controller. However, three WD 2 TB Caviar Greens also had to be moved to ICH10 and the two DVDs were moved to the Marvell controller. Why does Asus use substandard Marvell controller for their high end motherboards ... caused all these problems.
Synbios
I don't have any experience with backing up a RAID 0 array with Acronis but I would assume it would work assuming you store the archive on a drive with at least the same capacity of the RAID 0 array. Backing up and restoring images of an OS drive can be touchy, you usually need another system or use a Live CD for it.
