Cm2x1024-8500c5d

Recommended Posts

I'm currently in the process of RMA'n (Just finished the form earlier this afternoon) the 2GB (2x1GB) CM2X1024-8500C5D DDR2 kit. One of the sticks is completely dead (so dead my two computers refuse to boot when it's in any memory slot) and the other works just fine, but the RMA process suggests to RMA both modules. Before sending them off I had a couple of questions.

1. I read in another topic post that all DDR2 ram above 800Mhz was discontinued. Before I send off my memory, should I call up Corsair support about my RMA options or will I be okay sending off the memory for replacement?

2. When I was first setting up my RMA, in the first section it asks for the product type and to select the product from the list which i did, CM2X1024-8500C5D, but under RMA details it showed my module product number as CM2X2048-8500C5D with Module Quantity as 2. So I switched the product to the CM2X1024-8500C5D but since I didn't notice it before I submitted my form, it was after the RMA process was submitted. (I went back and went through the process again, of course not submitting it, to make sure it wasn't an error on my part, and sure enough, even after selecting CM2X1024-8500C5D in the beginning, it still showed up as CM2X2048-8500C5D under RMA details) Anyways, is having changed the module model number going to cause any problems or should I call up Corsair support about verifying my RMA details?

Thanks for any suggestions and help.

These were only sold as a set so the proper part number should be TWIN2X2048-8500C5D. And it is true they are no longer in production, I would suggest you get the RMA then you can call our customer service and see what the replacement might be. The phone number is listed under Contact on the main web site.
