asianman6924
OK so i have this major problem whenever i run really high demanding games. I have just installed Left for dead 2 and call of duty modern warfare two. I can play for 5 or 10 mins and then the whole computer freezes up and the monitor makes turns pink and purple (please see the pics below). Now my question is it my video cards going bad or is it that my power supply is dieing? The video cards that i have are (2) 260 GTXs and my power supply is a Corsair cmpsu-850TX (850 watts). I have tried everything including disabling sli, physically taking out one card and just playing with one card, and i tried putting the cards in different pci slots and the same thing happens... it crashes. The weird thing is that i can play counter strike fine since its a 11 year old game and doesn't put any stress on my video cards, but when i play l4d2 it crashes. Its not an overheating issue because i have program that monitors temperatures and when the computer locks the, the highest temp recorded on the video card is 61 which is fine. I have also tried running a video card stress test on both cards separately and within 5 secs (almost instantly) the computer freezes up. Does that mean that the video card is drawing alot of power from the psu and the psu is over-vaulting? It seems that the chances of BOTH video cards going bad is slim to none. It seems to me that the PSU is over-vaulting and causing the crashes, but i am not sure. Please help!! Any input and help is appericate! here is what my monitor looks like when the computer crashes pics here http://i.imgur.com/4A4c6.jpg http://i.imgur.com/QzWok.jpg
