emmstra
hello i recently bought the corsair force ssd 80gb and i have two questions 1) when i first connect it to my pc not as a system disk and test it using atto software the numbers was : about 250 mB/s both write and read speed. But when i set it as system disk the new numbers are : about 250 read speed and about 190 write speed. Is it normal?? or something is wrong... 2) i also have the intel x-25 ssd 80gb tha i used to have it as system disk. i still have it connected to my pc as data disk. intel provides a software about configuring this disk. Is there anything similar for corsair?? thank you in advanced for any answer
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 1, 2010 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 1, 2010 1) when i first connect it to my pc not as a system disk and test it using atto software the numbers was : about 250 mB/s both write and read speed. But when i set it as system disk the new numbers are : about 250 read speed and about 190 write speed. A: The rated spec for that drive is 285 MB/s sequential read and 275 MB/s sequential write, I would try and secure erase the drive with Parted Magic then quick format the drive with 4k Allocation and test it again with ATTO. 2) I also have the Intel x-25 ssd 80gb that i used to have it as system disk. i still have it connected to my pc as data disk. Intel provides a software about configuring this disk. Is there anything similar for corsair?? A: The Intel controller is a bit more complicated to use and thus the need for the utilities, Our SSD's will be able to use standard utilities such as Parted Magic and the default format provided the O.S. Only in some situations you may need to specify the allocation for the format which should be 4K for an O.S. drive and I would suggest 32K for a data drive as the default format allocation with any of our SSD's
