timelord
Hey all, want some input here as I am planning to get a new PSU, AX750 or AX850 depending on price as will be getting a GTX 460 1GB Card as well, either the MSI Hawk or the Gigabyte Super Overclock edition ANyways with the Corsair PSU's, is my understanding correct that both those models are the same as the Seasonic X series as I notice they appear to be identical. The Asgard
Yes they are the same. They are OEM Seasonic X Series.
Yellowbeard
Actually, there are a few subtle Corsair specific improvements on both the AX750 and AX850. Here is an example noting some of them: Once we open the AX850 we are left looking at a modified Seasonic X-Series. The most obvious difference from the overhead view are the heatsinks used in this unit which are more substantial than in the X-750. These heatsinks are similar to the heatsinks we saw in the X-400FL secondary while the primary side ones are black aluminum ridged heatsinks found on a number of other units whose general form is nothing special other than being more substantial than what was found on the X-750. The fan charged with cooling this unit is a Sanyo Denki ball bearing PWM fan rated at 0.13A at 12v. [H]OCP AX850 Review.
