espen
I have searched for the operating temperature specification of the Force F240. Many retailers state 0-70C as operating temperature, but I am not able to confirm this on the corsair webpage. Can anyone confirm the official operating temperature spec for the F series? Thanks, Espen
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 30, 2010 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 30, 2010 I am sorry but we do not specify an operating range, however most computer components would operate from 10-40 Deg C. Most desktop MB will fail at higher/Lower extremes. To put it another way these are designed for consumer desktop applications and do not have a MIL/GOV spec. espen
Thank you, RAM GUY. The request was for an embedded application with 0-65C operating temperature. I understand the disks are not intended for this market and cannot be used. Too bad, because the disk behavior and performance is excellent! Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 1, 2010 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 1, 2010 I am sorry about that but I think only the Intel drive has that type of certification.
Synbios
Yeah I would not recommend using the Force drive in that embedded application especially with those operating temperatures. I would check with other manufacturers. Seagate enterprise drives may be your best bet but if you need SSD I would check Intel as well like RAM GUY has suggested. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 1, 2010 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 1, 2010 You might check with WDC, I think they have issued a MIL spec for their drives or have a line of enterprise drives that are Government/MIL spec'ed, but they are more expensive much more if I remember.
