forgetfool
I'm trying to stay within my PSU's efficiency sweat spot. What type of power requirement or TDP I should be considering when utilizing Dominator DDR3. I plan on using the 24 GB kit. The next issue would be the impact of over clocking and appropriate allowances for PSU headroom there. I don't intend to experiment with anything until after I can install the Ice T 30 systems, once they are available. I initially felt that the sub ambient cooling would of course reduce the power requirements of the high performance RAM, but then there is still the issue of the TEC's efficiencies. I'm guessing that when combined with the RAM's wattage they are still going to represent at least the same if not an increase in power demand for that component group. Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
trackrat
5 watts per module would be typical for a DDR3 module. You can look at your system power requirements with and without overclocking with the interactive PSU calculator below. http://www.extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp
