cvrtsniper
hey guys, Ive been looking around the forum because my ssd drive wouldnt get recognized, I already sent in a RMA request, did every recommendation to try and get it detected. Before this all happened i had to reformat the drive and reinstall windows 7 around 4-5 times because the bootmgr wouldnt be found, and it would only boot into windows using the disk. Is any1 else having these issues with the extreme series? By the way here is my RMA number, and if any1 is wondering yes i did the unplug power cord ect. and no recognition. RMA #1197245. and as you can tell from my post I am a IT tech. To ram guy or yellowbeard. Im kinda iffy about the extreme series because it died in under a year. Would it be possible to replace the ssd with a force series drive of equal value?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 28, 2010 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 28, 2010 I am sorry but no, they will replace it with another X-Series drive unless they are not available.
cvrtsniper
really corsair..This is going to be the SECOND time Ive had to RMA a drive because it failed. I really don't want to have to rma ANOTHER DRIVE because poor quality control on your side. the ssd drive was a x32gb but now i rather just send it back and never have to deal with this BS again. I asked in another thread because I was iffy on the drive. Now that i know how poorly these drives are made I don't even want it anymore, I rather just get my money back! Wired
They didn't sell it to you, therefore they can't reimburse you. HOWEVER, get an RMA, explicitly tell them that you just got this drive from an RMA. You won't have to pay for shipping, and they may want to do a failure analysis on it. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 13, 2010 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 13, 2010 And did you try and run Parted Magic and secure erase the drive? You did not specify the failure only that it is not working???
