mhowie
Hello, I couple of years ago I bought 4GB of RAM-- specifically the TWIN2X4096-6400C4DHX module kit. I would like to upgrade to 8GB total in my (now) Win 7 64-bit system and have not been successful in finding this exact kit. I have found, however, the closely related TWIN2X4096-6400C5DHX module kit. It appears the lone difference is with the CAS latency spec (5 vs. 4 with the modules I currently using). Would this be an acceptable way to go for upgrading or should I keep looking for the DHX kit with the CAS rating of 4? I might note that about one year ago I attempted to upgrade to 6GB with the addition of two 1GB sticks which seemed to be appropriate-- the TWIN2X2048-6400C4DHX kit (4 CAS latency, DHX, etc.). However, I suffered instability problems and was ultimately forced to remove these sticks and have been operating with 4GB since then without issue. Thanks for the direction.
