avenger1986
So here's the problem, the ssd boots up randomly, at the time of this post it didn't boot up. Some ppl told me it might be a power problem, but then my system wouldn't boot up at all, it was the same before and after my hd5770 arrived(8600gt before), same bootup issues on the ssd. Reformatted with windows a few days ago, since then it's worse, even the speeds went down, read speeds from 230 to 213. I've also heared that it might have to do with the OC, some told me to set ram frequency to default(=>proc too), but didn't solve anything. LE: seems speeds are fine http://img690.imageshack.us/img690/6010/ssdlc.jpg after I reinstalled windows yesterday, not running from the ssd. Lf solutions or/and things to try, thanks. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 23, 2010 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 23, 2010 This has been posted previous on how to restore the performance, have you tried running secure erase and re-imaging the drive? I would suggest using Accronis to make an image of the drive (if you are using Windows) then use Parted magic to Wipe the drive under tools select Erase Disk and Secure Erase and then, install the drive on the system you will be using it as a second HDD and format it with the QUICK Option Only and 4k Allocation then test it with Atto again to be sure its running properly then delete the partition and image the drive back to its original image and you are done. avenger1986
so I secure erased it and the results, with nothing on the drive, even paused AV: http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/6325/ssd2.th.jpg http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/5919/ssd3.th.jpg the boot-up on every restart is much lower since I left OC on defaults, but still there.. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 24, 2010 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 24, 2010 Are you saying that is slower to get to the desktop? If so how long does it take? Also can you test the drive in another system?
avenger1986
I'm saying, if I restart my PC, the ssd doesn't always get recognized/doesn't start up. If necessary I could test it on another system ofcourse. It has something to do with the motherboard, since when I OC cpu+ram, and restart/start my pc it first starts for few sec, then starts the system again, going to windows, it's like when I change something in bios and save it on f10, it shuts down, saves it and restarts with those settings(all this when it's running on OC). Now, if i leave the pc without any OC, it start normally, but ssd still doesn't always start with my pc/doesn't get recognized. LE: I've updated the sata controller drivers manually and it seems speeds are back to normal, 138mb/s write, 232mb/s read, the only thing that remains is the startup, I'll get back if it happens again.
