hybris1
I installed a new Nova 128 in my Toshiba M9 laptop. I then did a clean install of windows 7 64 bit. After the install on the first boot from the SSD, it gets to the windows loading screen and then crashes. I get the blue screen of death, memory dump, etc. I put the original HD back in and it works fine. I connected the SSD via USB adapter. I can read, write and format. I try again to reinstall windows and same problem every time. Any suggestions?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 23, 2010 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 23, 2010 Please secure erase the drive then use Accronis to image the current boot drive to the SSD and see if it gets the error.
hybris1
I tried connecting it via my USB adapter and nothing. I tried installing it in another computer and cannot see the drive either. Seems to be bad now. Is there away to "reset" the drive or is it toast. What do you mean by "secure erase"? I don't own Accronis, will the trial work? hybris1
I put it back in my toshiba. It hangs the computer before the bios entry screen. Seems to be bad, I guess RMA is next.

hybris1
I received my drive back last night. I installed it with no issues. Works fine. I guess the other drive was DOA. I am a little bummed. I sent in a brand new drive that I was never able to use and got a referbished one back. It also did not come with the adapter tray. It is one thing to get my drive repaired or referbished but I don't like that it says "Referbished" across the front of the drive. This kind of hurts resale if I should want to get rid of it. dev-eth0
Hey hybris, I had a similar problem with my nova 128. I just received a refurbished one (with the label on it) and now have a problem with it's health. It arrived with 72% and after 3 days and one windows installation it's down to 30% ^^ http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/9374/74237467.png Could you plz check your's health? This kind of hurts resale if I should want to get rid of it.They only replace the drive. No need to replace anything else. As for "resale value", honestly that's not their concern, and keep in mind the warranty only covers items bought from an authorized Corsair reseller, so if you do sell it, the buyer won't have a warranty on it. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 13, 2010 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 13, 2010 The Health information is not reported properly as stated in that post Wired linked you to and as long as the drive is performing properly there is nothing to worry about.
