YKWIA
Hi. I recently bought memory off of eBay, 4GBs of it, 3 of the sticks contain the model number, one of them is unknown. And I'm having problems getting it to run... Both of the memory sticks run in the DIMM1 (both A and B) slots of my computer but the memory fails to run on DIMM2 (both A and B) slots of my motherboard. I'm wondering, is it a defect of the motherboard, is it because the memory is incompatible or is it something else entirely? Please help, I want to use dual-channel memory with my computer here! And yes, the memory is left at it's default settings.
trackrat
Multiple RAM kits rarely work together even when they are the same part number. Mixing is never recommended or guaranteed so it's virtually impossible for anyone to tell you exactly what the problem is. See the Memory Upgrade Guide link in my signature for more details. You can run Memtest 86+ on one DIMM at a time to determine if the DIMMs are OK, but even if they are they may not function properly with mixing of multiple RAM kits? Your Asus owner's manual should tell you which slots must be used when using just one or two DIMMs. You can try slower latency timings such as 11-11-11-30 2T to see if it helps but you'll probably need to purchase ONE proper tested, matched, i7/Maximus III Genie compatible 4 GB. 2x 2 GB. Wired
Also, was the memory bought from a vendor or an end user?

And I'm having problems getting it to run... I'm not clear on what you mean here? Do you mean it's not labeled with a sticker or are you saying it is unknown when you view the properties with CPU-Z or similar utility? Is it actually our memory? The 4th one is just labeled with an XMP ready sticker.
