Goldsmith
I can't find this kit on corsair's website TW3X2G1600C9D also the sticky thread that indicates part number meaning didn't come handy for me here: http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?p=413430#post413430 I want to break down that part number and also, I'm willing to buy an ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO Motherboard & a phenom 555 CPU can I run four modules (2 kits of TW3X2G1600C9D 4 GB in total) @ 1333 7-7-7-20? a friend of mine has this kit (only 1 kit) and it works fine for him same CPU but different mobo, he can do 1333 7-7-7-20 easily, but will the memory controller handle the 4 DIMMS at this speed and timings? I almost forgot, how could a "G" at the end of the part number make a difference and what would be the best revision of this kit searching in the forum came up with a thread where someone was asking about XMP for this kit, does it really support that (is it engineered for Intel platforms?) i didn't think of it that way, i've always thought it's the right one for an AMD platform as they are rated for 1.8v another thing, I'm from Egypt and this is one of the best options i have right now i can get those for about 52$ per kit (we usually pay much more than you do for the exact same thing so it's a good deal in my situation)
trackrat
You never want to use TWO RAM kits as they are not guaranteed to function together without issues per the Memory Guide link in my signature. The TW3X2G1600C9D appears to require 1.8 V and is only 2x 1 GB. modules. You'd be better IMO using a RAM kit of 2x 2GB. instead of four DIMMs to obtain 4 GB. total RAM if you are looking for lower latencies or overclocking. Check the options from the AMD Phonem II approved memory list in the link below. I understand that things are different in Egypt but you don't want to spend your money only to have PC problems... http://www.corsair.com/products/phenomii/default.aspx
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 15, 2010 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 15, 2010 Mixing and matching kits is never recommended or guaranteed. As for running two kits at 1333MHz 7-7-7-20, you may be able to however most likely you will not be able to. Most likely you will need to run them at 1333MHz 9-9-9-24.
