psychok9
I've an strange problem: I've added an 8800 GT standard for try Physx engine, together to my Radeon 5850, with PCI-E 6 pin cable and the nVidia card seem don't start, the gpu fan don't move and the system don't see my card. If I try an 5 pin molex adapter to the card, It start flawlessy and works. I've tried to switch with another 6 pin PCI-E cable, without result. What kind of problem can have my Corsair TX850W? Thank you.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 12, 2010 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 12, 2010 Do both cards work when you test them individually? Are you sure that the Nvidia drivers will support Physx when using an AMD card in addition to the Nvidia one?
psychok9
With software mod you can :) The cards works together and alone. Today i've tried again with some other 2 PCI-E 6 pin cables, and 8800 GT don't booted. After I switched 1 (of 2) PCI-6 cable from Radeon 5850 to 8800 GT, and picked 1 random PCI-E 6 pin from the power supply to Radeon 5850. The Radeon 5850 don't booted. I've switched with other PCI-E 6 pin... ...and booted! With a little strange "bass & rough" noise fan (maybe from the power supply), lowered bit a bit after I've logged to Windows. Someone can explain me this behaviour? Where I bought the power supply, they told me it could be the order of the cables... ??? The manual does not say anything about this. psychok9
I could have done something wrong in the links, or I could have some cables not working (RMA)? I do not know how rail +12 are divided into the various cables.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 15, 2010 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 15, 2010 There is only a single 12v rail on the TX850 so it should not matter which PCIE cables you are using to power the graphics cards. If it looks like there is a good chance that replacing the PSU could resolve the problems, then we can definitely give that a try, Request an RMA. However I am not familiar with mixing ATI and Nvidia graphics cards together like this so I would see if you can rule out any problems coming from that first. Some weeks ago I've bought new mainboard, cpu and ram and I've found the same problem with 1 video card inserted (the same main Radeon 5850). Switched 2 PCI-E 6 pin cables with others 2 PCI-E 6pin cables, the computer starts correctly. Can I still get the RMA? Corsair TX850 have 5 Years of warranty? Thank you a lot! psychok9
I'm about to order a new Corsair power supply, so I can ship this flawed and use my computer (I eventually discovered that the PCI-E defective cables, going for exclusion, are 2 out of 6). I know it's been a long time, but unfortunately for personal reasons I could not send it. Do you think I can still do it?
peanutz94
If it's still under warranty, yes, however you would need to submit a new ticket. You other one would have closed itself after 60 days i think is the time limit. Link is on the left.
