greedyisgood
1. If I remove the heat spreader of my memory module will it void the warranty? 2. Is it ok to use the memory module without heat spreader assuming my case has a good airflow? Thanks
Yellowbeard
Are talking about removing the top heat fin or the actual spreaders on the sides of the modules? Fins, no. Spreaders, yes, it will void the warranty to remove them. Not to mention that it's virtually impossible to remove them without destroying the module. greedyisgood
I see so the only thing removable in my module is the top fins only? In case if I will remove the fins only will it have an effect on the performance and lifespan of the module?

greedyisgood
I saw a guide here on how to remove the fins and I would like to ask if the grey tim is the same as the one use in cpu coolers?
Yellowbeard
No, it is not the same as the TIM on the Hydro Series coolers.
