KidCanary
A problem has occured with my computer in the past couple days - When I first turn my computer on in the mornings I get a strange semi-grinding noise that I'm fairly sure is coming from the PSU. If I turn the computer off and then on again it's fine for the rest of the day. Is this a sign of it dying, or something else? It's been in use since January 2008, although I recently bought a new graphics card (GTX460), and I've noticed the PSU can become quite noisy under load as well. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 13, 2010 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 13, 2010 I would see if you can use a pencil or something to prevent the fan from spinning and then power on the PSU and see if the noise is gone. If it is, then the noise must be coming from the fan and we can get the unit replaced for you. Request an RMA
