Kerosene
I'm looking for 2 x 1333 4GB for a Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3 (running an i5 760), and would like to use Corsair if possible. Any issues with CMX8GX3M2A1333C9?
trackrat
The CMX8GX3M2A1333C9 is confirmed compatible on the AMD Phenom II and Intel i3/i5/i7 so you should be good with that RAM.
Kerosene
Will I need to run this RAM at 1.65v to get 1333? If so, does the Gigabyte spec of 1.5v mean it's a dead end? CMX8GX3M2A1333C9 (specs from Newegg) Voltage: 1.5V – 1.65V GA-P55A-UD3 (specs from Gigabyte site) 1. 4 x 1.5V DDR3 DIMM sockets supporting up to 16 GB of system memory 2. Dual channel memory architecture 3. Support for DDR3 2200/1600/1333/1066/800 MHz memory modules 4. Support for non-ECC memory modules 5. Support for Extreme Memory Profile (XMP) memory modules
trackrat
The RAM will run at 1333 MHz. with voltages between 1.5-1.65V. Many Intel systems tend to like 1.5 V where as AMD systems will accept higher RAM voltages without issue. The Gigabyte mobo specs are the industry JEDEC DDR3 memory spec of 1.5 V. That does not mean you can't run the RAM at a higher voltage but Intel does not recommend it.
Kerosene
I've found this thread where someone is using CMX8GX3M2A1333C9 with a Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3R (basically the same as the GA-P55A-UD3). Does this mean that I can safely assume that there are no hidden problems with this RAM/mobo combination?
trackrat
As previously noted this RAM has been tested by Corsair and approved compatible with both the Intel and AMD systems so it should work fine. I think that's the best assurance you're going to get as mobos/CPUs/RAM all vary a tiny bit.
