Spudnik
I'm putting together a new PC and I've purchased the CMX8GX3M2A1333C9 8 gig x2 kit along with the Gigabyte GA-H55M-UD2H Intel Motherboard. I've used the compatibility checker and found that the motherboard I am using is compatible with the CMX8GX3M4B1333C9 version. What I am asking is if I can scrape by with what I have ordered or should I change it before it's to late? Thanks in advance. :) I am also a little worried about the I3 550 3.20 GHz I'm grabbing along with it. Should I switch to a different ram?
trackrat
The CMX8GX3M2A1333C9 is compatible with i3/i5/i7 CPUs so you should be OK. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145315 The CMX8GX3M4B1333C9 is AMD compatible but not Intel approved by Corsair. I would use ONE tested, matched, approved compatible RAM kit that matches your CPU, to eliminate problems.
Spudnik
Thanks for the reply trackrat. :) That's where I got confused. The Gigabyte GA-H55M-UD2H I'm getting is an Intel Motherboard but the Compatibility checker is saying that it's compatible with the CMX8GX3M4B1333C9 kit. Wired
Are you getting ONE 8 GB kit or TWO 8 GB kits?
Spudnik
Just the one kit.
trackrat
Gigabyte may have tested the CMX8GX3M4B1333C9 and found it to work or the QVL list could be incorrect. Asus often lists the incorrect RAM part numbers in their QVL, in my experience. Not sure on Gigabyte but you could e-mail them for a double-check.
