enyceexdanny
I'm planning a dual-loop system and want to keep everything inside the case. I already have the blocks en route and should arrive tomorrow. I need to place the order for the rest of the parts within the hour to have them by monday. I'm thinking of sandwiching 2 rads and place on the top. Since there's no way 2 thick rads will fit, I decided to go for a thick+thin. The 2 rads are XSPC RX360, and Swiftech's MCR320. MCR320: 34mm RX360: 58.5 120mm fans: 25mm 2 gaskets: not sure but should be minimal once compressed between the rads and fans. So the total depth is 117.5mm, + give or take 3~5mm for the gaskets. Would this fit?
enyceexdanny
Crap I think the motherboard block (EK Classified) might interfere.. Man, I'm running out of options.
FlawlessSoul
Due to the distance from the motherboard, any setup that runs thicker than push/pull on a normal radiator is going to have problems. Modding the case, you could move the top radiator off-center, though you'd have to replace most of the top. A better option would be to pull out the lower harddrive cage and fit two 240s on their side. Intakes through the case sides, through radiators, up into main body/behind motherboard plate (past harddrives). Then you've still got your 360 at the top. enyceexdanny
The thing is I have 6 hard drives. And I'm not good with with dremels. 2 240s? will 2 240s + fans fit there?
enyceexdanny
With my long HX1000 PSU, it might be difficult fitting a double rad down there no? I'd just really hate to mount a rad externally. =O EDIT: i saw some pictures and the PSU doesn't interfere it seems.
FlawlessSoul
http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=81698 You can easily fit the 240 flat, but if you want two 240s you'll need to put them on their side after removing the harddrive cage and mod the sides of the case for vents. The only other option is an external radiator of some sort. First choice would be to hang it off the back, but if you wanted to change your first idea to have one internal and one external in a sandwich at the top, it could work. Although again, you'd have to mod the top :)
slotrod
When you sandwich rads you lose effectivness of the cooling. If you are going to spend the money do it right. if you take out the drive bay cage and put a ****power supply extender on you can fit 360 on the bottom. I would use one or two ssd's and mount on side of the existing cages. If you need a look at how to do this mod look at my build CARBON for example. Is there enough clearance to put in a not-too-thick rad plus a 25 mm thick fan, without bumping into the CPU block or the tubing for that block? FlawlessSoul
On the back? Sure, easily enough space to put a rad on the rear exhaust, either exhaust or intake. Most people put their Corsair H50/H70 there anyway. You can fit a full push/pull setup there, though it does depend on the clearance over your NB heatsink, some might have trouble if its like some of the EVGA X58s
