Adamp44
Hello, I recently put together a new system and I've been experiencing random BSOD upon a cold boot. I suspect it might be memory-related. Here are a few of the BSOD I've been receiving: ATTEMPTED_WRITE_TO_READONLY_MEMORY BAD_POOL_HEADER MEMORY_MANAGEMENT SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION As I mentioned, it only seems to happen during a cold boot. And what's even more peculiar is if I try to simply reboot the system after a BSOD it will almost always result in another BSOD or hard freeze. I have to use the rocker switch on the PSU and leave it off for 15secs, then turn it back on in order for it to work. Once I can get past the login screen though, it's fine. I have no trouble playing StarCraft II or Civ 5 for several hours. I have the lastest BIOS and all my drivers are current. Initially I had XMP profiles enabled, but once I started having trouble I loaded the fail-safe defaults. I ran Memtest86 last night on all three modules at once and received no errors. I'm not sure what my next troubleshooting step should be, any advice would be greatly appreciate. Thank you.

trackrat
The TR3X6G1600C8D has been tested and confirmed by Corsair to be compatible with your CPU and Memtest shows no errors so the problem may or may not be RAM? First thing is to be sure that you have the latest BIOS as this is how mobo makers correct for RAM and other mobo issues. It would also be prudent to contact Gigabyte tech support and ask for their opinion as others folks may be having the same issues with this mobo as you. Adamp44
Hello, I just wanted to update my thread and let anyone who might be experiencing the same issues know that I solved my problem by replacing the memory. I replaced my bad memory kit with the Corsair Dominator 6 GB PC3-12800 (CMP6GX3M3A1600C8).
