Flash Voyager GTR 128 GB stopped working

Hi ,

Today my 128GB GTR started acting weirdly and now when I insert it to my laptop my laptop warns me that :

YOU NEED TO FORMAT THE DISK IN DRIVE D BEFORE YOU CAN USE IT.

When I click OK , then windows shows the space as 1.2GB where as it should read 128GB , can somebody tell me what is wrong and what should I do to restore it to its original 128GB state.

I am on Windows 7

Thank you

DC

I am sorry but you would need to work that out with our customer service, and the drive will need to be returned even in pieces. But those arrangements have to be made prior to sending to a third party. Normal RMA guidelines would not cover dismantling the drive which would have to be done to try and recover the data. I would suggest you call our customer service by phone and ask for a supervisor.

Hi Ram Guy

I sent it yesterday by TNT EXPRESS , airwaybill no : GD 873 928 075 WW

RMA #1194851

It was sent to your regular address :

Attn: RMA Department

Corsair Inc. 46221 Landing Parkway

Fremont, CA 94538

Phone 510-657-8747

The funny thing is I am abroad now so I sent it by TNT Express from abroad but I want it returned to my US address which I already mentioned while signing up for RMA request.

Thanks for your support.

Hi Ram GUY

My replaced Flash Voyager GTR is bricked as well. All of sudden all my data has been wiped and can not be reached nor formatted.

Exactly same as what happened to my already replaced 128GB GTR.

It`s just out of sudden , suddenly it all gets wiped and not responding to anything, not even formatting.

I have been using Flash Voyager GTR on my Bat Voyager Pro e-mail software only.

However I have been using always Flash Voyagers since 2008 and as my e-mail size gets bigger I was just increasing the capacity of my USB Flash disks.

From 16GB to 32 GB to 128GB all Flash Voyager , but only with 128GB I encountered this problem

What should I do ? I think it must be RMA`ed again or what ?

Rgds

My Voyager GTR 128GB is dead... :*-(

On the morning as usual, I opened my flash drive to work... but files opening makes error... Flash drive no moved, no damaged, no changed position from yesterday evening... but does not work... I'm started standart Windows Check disk utility. it ends with error. And after it my Voyager GTR has size 0 and I can't nothing to do with it, can't check for error, can't format... no any actions.... I lost all my data, My important projects and work documents for 3 weeks (I have backup of 3 weeks ago)... Ok, I'll work more to repair data again... but what to do with my device?? I need the most reliable flash drive... that's why I used one of most expensive device - Corsair Voyager GTR.... but it's died after one year using. Why? Was it manufacturing defect? What must I do now?

Pavel.

P.S. Sorry for my English, I'm from Russia.

Mine died a few times too . What I realised since I bought it, I always Safely Remove "EJECT' the Corsair from the computer , I do not just unplug it off, always choose EJECT CORSAIR from the SAFELY REMOVE menu of the computer.

Secondly I realised Corsair does not like being plugged into different computers too much, whatever you do just SAFELY REMOVE by EJECTING from your computer.

By doing this it workd quite OK .

By the way, mine died about 4 times, on one of them it had been replaced by Corsair. The other 3 ( everything inside was wiped out of sudden and , I reformatted it then it worked again).

In my situation Device was not plugged and not removed... it was attached to PC from previous day...

And now it has not possibility to formatting drive... Shown size is 0 bytes. No any variants to do formatting...

Never leave Corsair plugged in if you will turn off your computer. Always unplug it by EJECTing it.

Your seems like it is really dead (it happened to me once and Corsair replaced it )
