mihco
Hello. I have just build a new system. I have a problem with 2 sticks out of 3. I cant get them to work in any posible configuration. They are on Asus"s Qvp list as compatible. The one that works is recognised and works fine in single chanell on all ram slots on my MB. With the other 2 i havent had luck on any slot on my mobo at any bios settings(default, xms, manual settings). When all 3 are connected bios and win7 64bit only recognise 2gb. I have tried resitting the cpu and the cpu cooler...nothing helps. Do i have defected rams? They are brand new. Please help. I bought them in Germany but i am from Slovenia. I wouldnt want to have even more cost by sending it back for no reason. I have also checked some numbers on the ram itself. The two defected have the number 94V-0 1037 on them and the one that works has 94V-0 1033 if that even makes any sense. Thanks. edit: some more nubers from the sticker> 6gb(3x2gb) 2048mb 1600Mhz 8-8-8-24 1,65v ver 7.1A 10402712
Wired
Test one stick at a time in each slot using Memtest86+. Did you enable XMP in the BIOS, or did you set the timings manually, or just leave it all at defaults?
mihco
Thanks for the reply. I have tested the sticks one at a time in every slot on the mobo...but could only post with one stick(the one that works w/o problem of course). the other two arent recognized. No mather which slot i use. Cant get to post with those two defected sticks so i cant even run memtest on them. As soon as i add the working one it posts but recognise only 2gb. CPU-z sees all 3 stick and report 6gb of ram. But bios and win7 shows just 2gb. the one module that is working, works w/o a problem on default bios settings(1066Mhz), xms and manualy set timings @1600Mhz or any other settings i have tried but the other two dont show in bios(not seperatly, not togheter or any other combination at any settings)

mihco
RMA link's on the left. NOOO, i am scrued. I really need my computer. I would buy a new TR3X6G1600C8D kit for the time being but dont know if the two kits will work togheter as the QVL states as not compatible when all 6 slots are full. Does anyone have experience with Asus Sabertooth x58 and two TR3X6G1600C8D kits installed?
trackrat
Two RAM kits are not recommended for any mobos as they often do not work without issues. One tested, matched kit is the only means to be sure that all of the memory modules will function together without issues.
