Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 4, 2010 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 4, 2010 As title, do you think that this is a quite silent case? Ultimately it depends what you are going to put in the case, but the 200mm intake and exhaust fans that come with the case are very quiet. The built in 4 port fan controller will allow you to slow down or speed up fans on the fly, so you can switch from high performance at the cost of running a little louder, or scale the fan speed down to have the system running quieter. Do you know if the 200mm fan are "changeable" with other fan without modding the case??? Thanks.
Flanno
In my opinion (and I have 2 600T's), and while quiet in terms of you don't hear a whoosing of air, there is a lot of motor noise from the 600T fans. Even on low setting there is a whining noise though you eventually learn to ignore it. Of course noise is subjective and you may not even notice this or the open nature of the front of the 600T and the noise from the components within will drown out this noise. The fans actually have the same spec as the Xigmatek series so I wouldn't be surprised if Corsair rebadged them. In my opinion they are not great 200mm fans and don't push anywhere near as much air as CM Megalfows which are also quieter. They are sufficient though and do the job. Regarding replacing the 200mm fans with something else - unfortunately you are stuck using the Corsair fans as anything over 20mm deep won't fit in the top position due to the motherboard being so close to the top of the case. Regarding the front of the case -while you could fit a conventional 30mm deep fan in the front, you either need to remove the fan supports (they are just over 20mm deep and they enclose the sides of the 200mm fan) and mount the fan to the front grille with screws/bolts or zip ties. Or else attach the fan to the front of the fan supports. But then you can't mount your bottom HD bay. As for the rear 120mm fan - quiet but not very powerful. A Noctua, Noiseblocker, Sharkoon etc.. will push more air for same or less noise. I've got used to the motor noise from the 200mm fans, replaced the rear fan with a H70 with 2 Apache Vipers in Push/Pull. I'm now in the process of modding the sidepanel so I can fit a 250mm fan.
