lostbookshop
I recently built a new computer using the AX 750 PSU, now when starting the system the PSU fan will very briefly spin up then stop, no matter what load I put on the PSU the fan will never restart. I would of course like to replace the part and get back to work by requesting an RMA. I began to follow the steps and try to get an RMA number but unfortunatley it seems no one has told you folks that there are parts of the Rupublic of Ireland which dont have have post codes and the automated RMA form barfs on the spot. Could one of you fine tech support people have a look into the issue and respond either here or by mail please? Best regards,
Wired
It'd be quicker to simply email ramguy@corsair.com with your case number and tech issue / ticket system issue.
lostbookshop
Thank you, I will try just that in addition to this forum post, thank you for joining the discussion so helpfully considering you so very boldy and in red do not work for Corsair! Wired
Heh, well people think Admin = Corsair Paycheck, and it doesn't :)
lostbookshop
I appreciate your help Wired, and I have sent the email, I do not envy your position running support on forums unpaid. I will be honest, I am sorry for being curt and abrasive. It has taken a long time to save up and build this system, I am delighted with the performance and have new subscriptions to mmo games which I will not be able to play while this issue is resolved. I'm not putting that on you, or Corsair or anyone, I know these things happen. Please lets just get my PSU up and running?
Wired
Is your RMA # under the same email address you registered here with?
lostbookshop
Of course. May I refer you to my previous statements. As long as it takes, I promise to be polite.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 2, 2010 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 2, 2010 That may be normal the FAN will not start until it reaches enough load or starts getting above a certain temp. And I have sent you an email about the TSX Account creation.

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 3, 2010 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 3, 2010 Does the fan start turning after its been on for a while or like when you load a game?
lostbookshop
No as stated the fan does not ever go on except for a very brief spin at start up, I've tried everything from stressing my video card with 3Dmark benchmark tests to get it to draw full power to loading up all my spare hard disks and optical drives. While I understand the AX750 fan is not supposed to spin up at less than 20% power I cannot believe my system is running at only 150W with an i7 930 and a Radeon 5870. The video card itself requires two 75W 6-pin PCI Express power connectors. I have replied to your email, can you get bck to me if you need any more information and can I have my RMA please? sethxavier
@topic starter, whatever happened with your psu? i bought the exact same psu and i've the exact same problem. This is the second now, the first one I already had it RMA'd thinking that it was defective and now i just got the second one and it's doing the exact same thing. So is just a "smart fan" feature or is it really defective? o.O
sethxavier
@lostbookshop I've gotten an email from tech support explaining about the fan hope this helps :D http://blog.corsair.com/?p=4184
lostbookshop
Actually nothing has happened since Ramguy contacted me by email and asked for my details saying they would create an account manually for me. Have not heard from them since either by email or in this forum post. Just checking the fan again I loaded up FF XIV, with all the settings maxed out and ran to each of the three starting citys, twice. very pretty game to look at if not to actually play at the minute. Fan didn't go on once.

It starts at whatever heavy app i start, im on a maximus3 board with 4gb ram and 2 gtx 460's so im thinking yours is definitely busted..
