k4003
I use this on my boot disk, .Every once i a while I pull it out and do a drive clone onto another x256. Sometimes I reverse it so that the old target drive is not the source. The drive I have seems bad. It pretty much won't do an image copy. It is so slow it locks up the drive copier. And I can hardly copy files in windows. When I benchmark it, it a 3.0 mb/sec. The USB HDD it 14mb/sec. Does it have some sort of heat problem with big files, or is it just going out? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 1, 2010 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 1, 2010 Have you tried running Parted Magic and secure erase the drive? If so and you still have that issue please use the link on the left and request an RMA.
k4003
I just got a failed x-256 drive back from Corsair, and the replacement just went dead. Drive not found. This is 3 failures now. I need to know what to do it is causing major work problems here. If you have another series that works, we need to see about exchanging this. We have 5 of these ^%&^% things all to try to keep 1 pc operating.

k4003
I cant find the previous rma email. But is was since June of this year. The serial number is 13112185. I also see there is indilix firmware 1916. What firmware version do you have and what indilix number firmware are you currently putting in this drive? Will version 1916 from other sellers work in this drive? This drive series seems to have constant problems. One of the problems seems to be related to a power on-power off-power on sequence. As if powering off wondows while it is booting with 15 seconds of startup, next time you start, the drive is gone. It acts like it is doing some internal process, and if not allowed to complete, it erases. It also acts like it is doing some internal process occasionally, and does not respond to the operating system and gets a timeout error in the OS. Is there another series drive you have that works better? Also, when doing the firmware update on a non-failed drive, does it erase the drive? Wired
What firmware version do you have and what indilix number firmware are you currently putting in this drive? That is correct our latest Firmware version 2.X is based on Indolinx reference BIOS 1819. I doubt we will release the current version 1916 for a few reasons which I am not at liberty to discus, sorry. But if a newer version is released that addresses some current issues and proves to be more stable we will may be release a newer version , but at this time there is no plan that I am aware of. Will version 1916 from other sellers work in this drive? No. when doing the firmware update on a non-failed drive, does it erase the drive?Don't believe so, however you should always back up your data before attempting to update your firmware.
